Wesley Louie "W. L." Dodd, Jr., 79, passed away on July 4, 2020 at North Mississippi Medical Center in Eupora, Mississippi. He was born on February 5, 1941 to Wesley Louie and Thelma Boatman Dodd. W. L. was married to Bonnie Dodd and the late Claudia Dodd.

W. L. served in the United States Army and came back to Eupora to raise his family. He was known to everyone and was willing to help anyone who called him. He worked with Futorian for a number of years and was self-employed doing various plumbing jobs throughout the area. Dwayne, his son, laughingly said that his dad was called the Number One Plumber of Webster County. W. L. was known to say as he gritted his teeth, "I won't be outdone by anything." Loving country and gospel music, he had a huge record collection. He will be missed by his many friends and family. He was a member of the Harmony Freewill Baptist Church.

He is survived by his wife, Bonnie Dodd of Eupora, Mississippi; two sons, Dwayne (Tayna) Dodd of Eupora, Mississippi and Marcus (Christina) Dodd of Sturgis, Mississippi; one daughter, Tammy Downer of Eupora, Mississippi; two step-sons, Tony (Dawn) Anthony and Michael (Melinda) Lusk both of Eupora, Mississippi; two step-daughters, Linda (Joe) Salley and Rhonda Abbott both of Eupora, Mississippi; one brother, Billy (Joan) Dodd of Brookhaven, Mississippi; one sister, Ann Berry of Louisville, Mississippi; thirteen grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Wesley Louie and Thelma Boatman Dodd, his late wife of fifty years, Claudia Dodd; one son, David Dodd; one brother, Ervin Dodd; and one sister, Mary Linda Dodd.

`Services for W. L. Dodd will be held on Tuesday, July 7, 2020 at 11:00 a.m. at Reed's Chapel Cemetery. Officiating the service will be Brother James Caffey. Pallbearers are Wesley Lee Dodd, Aaron Dodd, Marty Green, Billy Green, Michael Lusk, and Tony Lusk. Wise Reed Funeral Home is in charge of all arrangements.
