Tony Blanton

September 29, 1950 – March 1, 2021

Mathiston, Mississippi

Tony Blanton, aged 70, passed away peacefully at North Mississippi Medical Center in Eupora on March 1, 2021. He was the son of the late William Tyler and Kathleen Nason Blanton of Starkville, Mississippi.

Tony graduated from Starkville High School in 1968 and joined the United States Air Force. He loved his family and returned to Starkville to take care of his son, Scott, who had cystic fibrosis. After working different jobs he began a career with the Clark Beverage Company as one of their drivers for eighteen to twenty years. He enjoyed fishing in his spare time and loved carpentry. He became quite skilled in woodwork. His children will remember him as a loving father and grandfather in whom they were proud to call their Daddy and Paw!

Tony is survived by one son, Steven (Pamela) Blanton of Starkville, Mississippi; two daughters, Staci Blanton (Dean) Mendez and Kathleen Blanton Curtis both of Eupora, Mississippi; one brother, Glenn (Mary Ellen) Blanton of Paris, Tennessee; two sisters, Janice Blanton Brown of Starkville, Mississippi and Shirley Blanton Osbourn of Ackerman, Mississippi; and seven grandchildren, William Tyler Blanton II, Sarah Blanton, Cameron Scott Mendez, Chloe Rose-Elizabeth Mendez, Michael Jayden Curtis, Peyton Tony Curtis, and Mason Davis Curtis.

He is preceded in death by his parents William Tyler and Kathleen Nason Blanton and his son, Thomas Scott Blanton.
