Steven Micheal Hodges, age 66, passed away on December 31, 2023, at his home. He was born on November 29, 1957, to Herbert Hale and Frances Alberta Anderson Hodges.
Steve was born in California then moved to Mississippi in the early 1960's with his family. He graduated Eupora High School where he met Sherry Hodges, the mother of his children. Together, he and Sherry raised five children that they were both very proud of. He worked for Webster County Board of Supervisors. Steve's hobbies included his love for NASCAR and gardening. His daughter, Kimberly, remembers him as a great cook, often creating his own recipes. Steve was a constant in his children's lives and was always there when they needed him. He loved his family deeply, especially his grandchildren. He always enjoyed family gatherings together. Steve recently spent a week with his children and grandchildren, celebrating Thanksgiving.
He is survived by three sons, Jacob Hodges (Nicolle) of Coweta, Oklahoma, Chad Hodges (Misty) of Benton, Arkansas, and Cruz Winfield of Starkville, Mississippi; two daughters, Kimberly Hodges Wood (Scott) of Vardaman, Mississippi and Richie Winfield of Pascagoula, Mississippi; one brother, Russell Messer; and eight grandchildren, Fallon Hodges, Holden Hodges, Raeven Hodges, Stormie Hodges, Don Wood, Kelsa Wood, Brody Wood, and McKinley Winfield.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Herbert Hale and Frances Alberta Anderson Hodges and one brother, Robert Hodges.
A funeral service will be at Wise Reed Chapel at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, January 6, 2024, with David Gore officiating. A visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. at Wise Reed Funeral Home. Pallbearers are Jacob Hodges, Chad Hodges, Cruz Winfield, Holden Hodges, Scott Wood, and Doug Barnett. Honorary Pallbearers are all members of the Webster County Board of Supervisors. Burial will follow at Clarkson Cemetery in Webster County, Mississippi. Wise
