Shirley Brady, age 99, passed away at Baptist East Hospital on Wednesday, April 19, 2020. She was born on February 6, 1921 to James and Myrtle Wood Hetfield.

Shirley has been a resident of Memphis, Tennessee since 2007. She loved making Christmas tree ornaments and solving crossword puzzles with numbers. She especially liked to cross stitch and garden. Her family will remember her as being the person that always took care of everyone else. She was of the Baptist faith.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Clyde Brady; one brother, James Hetfield; and two sisters, Ruth Bennett and Laura Schwartz.

She is survived by one son, Glen Brady of Memphis, Tennessee; one daughter, Patti Rutledge of Memphis, Tennessee; and one grandson, Shawn Rutledge.

A family graveside was held on Wednesday, April 22, 2020 at 11 a.m. at Mount Nebo Cemetery in Choctaw County, Mississippi. Wise Reed Funeral Home was in charge of all arrangements.
