In Loving Memory
Sara Abbott, aged 69, passed away on September 10, 2019 surrounded by her family. She was born to Albert and Ethel Florene Avant Perrigan on July 29, 1950, and was married to Earl Abbott for 50 wonderful years.
Sara graduated from Sturgis High School where she was on the basketball team. She was retired from Motor Guide in Starkville, Mississippi. She was a member of Spring Valley Baptist Church in Mathiston, Mississippi. She is best known because she had an identical twin sister, Sandra. They were known by many as the "Perrigan Twins" and shared many wonderful years together as close friends and sisters. She was very much "young at heart"; teaching her children and nieces how to roller skate and roll yards. She was definitely an outdoor person, enjoying both hunting squirrels and working with flowers in her yard. Her family will always remember her delicious Mississippi mud cake and dressing. Her niece, Tracie Cunningham, laughingly called her aunt her "partner in crime". She will be missed by all of her family.
Mrs. Abbott is survived by her husband, Earl Abbott; one son, Clifton (Tammy) Abbott of Mantee, Mississippi; one daughter, Angel (Shawn) Morris of Eupora; two brothers, Erven (Wanda) Perrigan of Mathiston, Mississippi and Roger Dale (Jonell) Perrigan of Pontotoc, Mississippi; five grandchildren, CJ Abbott, Hannah Abbott, Grace Abbott, Brooke Morris and JJ Awtrey; three nieces, Tracie Cunningham, Jennifer Tune, and Amy Jordan; and five nephews, Jerry Wilson, Jeff Wilson, Chris Palmertree, Brad Perrigan, and Wayne Nickels.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Albert and Ethel Florene Avant Perrigan, and her twin sister, Sandra Smith.
The funeral service will be at Wise Reed Chapel at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, September 14, 2019 with Brother Charles White officiating. The visitation will be from 5:00 until 8:00 p.m. Friday at Wise Reed Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Clarkson Cemetery in Webster County, Mississippi. Wise Reed Funeral Home is in charge of all arrangements.
