Roy Gammill

Roy Gammill, age 75, passed away on Wednesday, November 23, 2022, at his home in West Point, MS. He was born on February 19, 1947, in Mississippi, to John K. and Emma Lewis Gammill.

Roy was truck driver for 52 years hauling anything that needed hauling, but mostly livestock, which earned him the handle, Bullhauler. As well being a trucker, Roy loved his Harley and his Peterbilt, watching TV programs like "Ancient Aliens", racing cars, and fishing if the beer was cold. Aside from having a rough and tough exterior, Roy had a deep abiding soft spot for his Pomeranian, Duchess Babycakes whom he held and sang "You are My Sunshine" daily.

Roy is survived by his partner of 42 years, Connie Stewart; one daughter, Renee Harrison, two sons, Gregg (Macy) and Chris Stewart, all of West Point, MS; a host of grandchildren; Olivia and Marcus Harrison, Camron, Lucas ,Paris ,Shannon, Julian, Melasondae, and Areck Stewart.

He is preceded in death by his father, John K. Gammill; his mother, Emma Lewis Gammill; brothers Donald and Loy Gammill ; sisters, Wanda Ann and Karlene Gammill.

A memorial gathering of friends and family of Mr. Gammill will be held later.
