Robert Earl Roberts

Robert E. Roberts, 63, passed away November 10, 2018 at Moss Point, Mississippi. He was born February 1, 1955 to Ruben and Margaret Johnson Roberts.

Mr. Roberts, formerly from Webster County, was retired from Engels Shipyard. To family and friends, he was affectionately known as "Pony". He was known for his loving smile, generous spirit, and, of course, his love for jeans and cowboy boots. He was a member of the Church of Christ.

Mr. Roberts is survived by one son, John Martin Roberts of Moss Point, Mississippi; two daughters, Margaret Roberts of Moss Point, Mississippi and Raven (Early) James of New Orleans, Louisiana; eight grandchildren; a devoted friend, Sherri Sellers; three brothers, Carl Roberts of Grambling, Louisiana, Ruben (Debra) Roberts, Jr. of Moss Point, MS, and Dean (Karen) Roberts of Atlanta, Georgia; two sisters, Oree Roberts of Toledo, Ohio and Mary Olivia (Ronald) Pierce of Atlanta, Georgia; an uncle, Russell Johnson of Eupora, Mississippi; an aunt, Catherine Hill of Eupora, Mississippi; close cousins, Mary Hunt of Moss Point, Mississippi; Earnest Johnson and Luther Mhoon of Eupora, Mississippi; and a host of nieces, nephew, cousins, and friends.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Ruben "Bud" and Margaret Roberts and an older brother, James Curtis Roberts.

Visitation will be at Wise Reed Funeral Home on Friday, November 16, 2018, from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. Funeral services will be at Wise Reed Chapel at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, November 17, 2018. Officiating will be Reverend Allen Mays. Pallbearers will be Bobby Hill, Ricky Johnson, Kevin Johnson, Luther Mhoon, Jamarus Williams, and Paul Young. Burial will be at North Union Cemetery in Bellefontaine, Mississippi. Wise Reed Funeral Home is in charge of all arrangements.
