Robert "Rap" Palmer, aged 58, passed away at his home on December 8, 2020 with his wife, Anne Palmer. He was born on January 11, 1962 to the late Thurman and Margaret Ridge Palmer.
Mr. Palmer was well-known in the area as "Rap". In fact, people called him and his wife Mr. and Mrs. Rap. After having an auto-electric shop known as RAP's in Starkville, he relocated to Ackerman until he became unable to work in the business. When asked to do any kind of work, he never told anyone, "No." He always put others first. He enjoyed spending time with his twelve grandchildren. Being an outdoorsman, he enjoyed fishing and hunting rabbits with his own rabbit dogs. He was of the Baptist faith.
He is survived by his wife, Anne Palmer, one daughter, Carol (Scott) Long of Denham Springs, Louisiana; two sons, Jim (Casey) Price of West Point, Mississippi and Justin (Stephanie) Price of Pontotoc, Mississippi; three sisters, Charlene (Homer) Rodgers of Pontotoc, Mississippi, Debbie (Danny) Alexander of Pontotoc, Mississippi, and Darlene (James) Reeves of Shannon, Mississippi; one brother, Ricky Palmer of Pontotoc, Mississippi; and twelve grandchildren, Celena Long, Nate Long, Annie Long, Evie Long, Zeke Long, Elsa Long, Peyton Price, Conner Price, Kiley Price, Adecyn Price, Wesson Price, and Ann-Hadley Price.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Thurman and Margaret Ridge Palmer; one sister, Reanelda Alexander; four brothers, Roger Palmer, Ray Palmer, Randy Palmer, and Rodney Palmer.
A graveside service will be held on Thursday, December 10, 2020 at 2:00 p.m. at Cedar Bluff Cemetery in Clay County, Mississippi. A visitation will be held prior to the service at Cedar Bluff Cemetery at 2:00 p.m. Officiating for the service will be Brother Todd Chesser. Pallbearers will be Jason Bigham, Steve Tamboli, Roger Salley, Perry Thompson, David Gordon, and John Turner. Wise Reed Funeral Home is in charge of all services.
