Ottis Dale Orr passed away on July 17, 2026, peacefully at home.

He was born July 13, 1951, to James Ottis Orr and Pansy White Orr.

Dale, as he was known by family and friends, retired from the Calhoun County School District where he served as custodian for 20 years at Calhoun City Elementary School. Dale also was able to work with his wife for 19 years. He loved all the teachers and children at the school. Dale loved to hunt and enjoyed having big gardens.

Ottis Dale Orr is survived by his wife Eva Smith Orr; one son William Richmond; two daughters Barbra Dettinger and Rose Simmons.

He is preceded in death by his parents Jomes Ottis Orr and Pansy White Orr and one son Jay Richmond.

A visitation for Mr. Orr will be on July 20, 2026, at Wise Reed Funeral Home from 12:00 until 2:00 P.M. A service will be held in the chapel at 2:00 P.M. He will be laid to rest at Montevista Cemetery. Due to heat advisories, graveside services will be held at Wise Reed Funeral Home Chapel instead of the cemetery.
