Omaree Estelle Burns Clark

Omaree Estelle Burns Clark, age 91, passed away on Saturday, July 9, 2022 at North Mississippi Medical Center in Eupora, Mississippi surrounded by her loved ones. She was the daughter of U. L. Sisson Burns and Floy Lou Barmore.

Even at the age of 91 she was always taking care of all of her children. When she was just a young girl, she and her brothers and sisters enjoyed singing in church. That love of singing has continued throughout the years. When she was able, she enjoyed working in the garden. She hoped that her children would enjoy this as they grew into adults. She was able to sit with and care for the elderly. As she grew older, she realized her limitations and was not able to do all of the things that she enjoyed. She attended the Maben Church of God.

Survivors include her two sons, Wayne Rushing (Joann) and Roger Peeples of Maben, Mississippi; three daughters, Linda Rushing Williams (Bobby) of Maben, Mississippi, Deborah Hurst Thompson (Billy) of Montpelier Community in Mississippi, Carol Peeples Smith (Ken) of Maben, Mississippi; 17 grandchildren; and 29 great-grandchildren.

Omaree was preceded in death by her parents, U. L. Sisson and Floy Lou Barmore Burns; two brothers, Ray Lee Burns and Thomas Burns; a son, Gary Allen Peeples; and a sister Louise Burns Oswalt (Aunt Leesy).

Funeral Service for Omaree Estelle Clark will be at 2 p.m. at Wise Reed Chapel on Wednesday, July 13, 2022. Visitation for Ms. Clark will be from 12 p.m. until 2 p.m. at Wise Reed Funeral Home on Wednesday, July 13, 2022. A graveside service will follow the funeral service at Mt. Moriah Cemetery. Officiating the services will be Brother Kerry Collins and Brother Brian Wells. Pallbearers are Patrick Osburn, Brian Hoffman, Tucker Hoffman, George Singleton, Dillon Thompson, Brandon Scott, and Craig Pepper (Gregg). Wise Reed Funeral Home is in charge of all arrangements.
