Nellie Louise Crow

Nellie Louise Crow of Bellefontaine, Mississippi, passed away on June 16, 2026, at the age of 82. She was born on July 7, 1943, to William Anthony Best and Myrtis Scallions Best.

Nellie was raised in the Delta but had called Bellefontaine home since the 1990s. She was a member of Fellowship Baptist Church, where she enjoyed volunteering and singing. A homemaker, Nellie enjoyed gardening, bird watching, and art. She was an avid fan of the National Rodeo and loved discussing it with family and friends. Most of all, Nellie was a loving and nurturing mother and grandmother, often sharing the fact that she had twenty-two grandchildren with anyone she met.

Nellie is survived by three sons, Michael Todd Best (Lori) of Water Valley, Leslie Eugene Crow, Jr. (Billie) of Bruce, and William Elliott Crow (JaNancy) of Orange Beach; four daughters, Pamela Jean Cook (Jeff) of Jonesboro, Arkansas, Tonya Rene Gaskin of Bellefontaine, Tamora Laveda Blount (James) of Bruce, and Louanne Pauline Cooper of Mantatchie; twenty-two grandchildren, and a host of great-grandchildren.

Nellie was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Leslie Eugene Crow, Sr.
