Nancy Elizabeth
Allred
October 29, 1931 – March 24, 2025
Nancy Elizabeth Allred, 93, of Eupora, Mississippi, passed away peacefully at her home on the evening of March 24, 2025, surrounded by her loving family.
Born on October 29, 1931, in Minter City, Mississippi, Nancy was the third of ten children born to Carl and Johnnie Bell (Kennedy) Johnson.
A woman of deep faith, quiet strength, and boundless grace, Nancy lived a life rooted in devotion—to her God, her family, and her community.
A founding member of West Eupora Church of God, she remained a faithful and active member throughout her life. Her steadfast commitment to her church and family reflected her unwavering spirit and servant's heart.
Nancy was a devoted homemaker who poured her love into her home, family, and community. She was married to Johnny Hulon Allred for 50 years, sharing a life full of love, laughter, and unwavering partnership until his passing in 1997.
To many beyond her immediate family, she was affectionately known as "Aunt Lizar"—a name spoken with warmth and admiration. A gifted cook and gracious host, she welcomed all who crossed her threshold with open arms, a hot meal, and a cold Dr. Pepper. Her kitchen was a place of comfort, laughter, and togetherness, where cherished memories were made around her table.
Nancy believed deeply in loving one's neighbor and lived that belief daily through acts of kindness, generosity, and compassion for those in her community. She instilled these values in her children and grandchildren, leaving behind a legacy of faith in action.
She also had a profound love for the natural world. With a green thumb and a passion for plants and flowers, she could often be found tending her garden, sharing cuttings, or exploring the backroads in search of native blooms. She found peace and purpose in nurturing the beauty around her.
Nancy is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Johnny Hulon Allred; eight of her siblings; and two grandchildren, Randy Buford and Franny Buford.
She is survived by her two daughters, Joyce Buford (Randall) of D'Iberville and Nancy Hall of Eupora; son, Gary McKee (Carthage, MS); her grandchildren Dawn Wade (D'Iberville, MS), Kim (Cory) McDonald (Guyton, GA), Odie Avery (Robert Erickson) (Eupora, MS), Cassondra (David) Rogers (Eupora, MS), Zach McKee (Carthage, MS), and Travis McKee (Carthage, MS); her great-grandchildren Ethan McDonald, Brody McDonald, Amelia Rozo, Morgan Boyd, Sidnie Hunt, Rawley Buford, Hudson Buford, and John Carter Buford; and two great-great-grandchildren who brought her immense joy.
Nancy's legacy is one of faith, hospitality, and love—a life beautifully lived and deeply cherished. She will be dearly missed by all who knew her.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the West Eupora Church of God Building Fund.
