Mildred Dorroh Pounds

Mildred Dorroh Pounds, 94, of Bellefontaine, Mississippi passed away on August 9, 2018 at North Mississippi Medical Center in Eupora, Mississippi. She was born on July 18, 1924 to Jesse Stephen and Ruth Macon Dorroh.

Mildred was a member of New Hope Baptist Church in Webster County for the past 25 years and of Bellefontaine Fellowship Baptist Church for 50 years where she was the pianist. Being a daughter of Baptist preacher when she was young she followed him where he was preaching from all over Webster, Choctaw, and Calhoun County. She loved her family and was a wonderful mother to her son and his family.

She is survived by her son, Donald C. (Dora) Pounds of Bellefontaine, Mississippi; two grandchildren, Daniel Pounds and Ashley (Edward) Entsminger of Slate Springs, MS; two great-grandchildren, Rachel and David Entsminger; and her sister-in-law, Nellie Fay Dorroh. She is preceded in death by her parents, Jesse and Ruth Macon Dorroh; her husband, Curtis N. Pounds; her sister, Lucille Dorroh Langston; and two brothers, James Stanley Dorroh and Robert Grady Dorroh.
