Melissa Kay Blasingame, 47, passed away on August 17, 2020 at North Mississippi Medical Center Tupelo.

Melissa was born on October 27, 1972 to William and Minnie Blasingame. Melissa loved her kids dearly. She loved her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ! She also loved to sing. She was a great mother, sister, aunt, and friend.

Melissa was preceded in death by her parents, William and Minnie Blasingame; her grandparents; her brother, Bill Blasingame; sister, Wonda Oswalt; a brother-in-law, Larkin Oswalt; a niece, Sharon Oswalt; and great nephews, Joemarion and Joedarion Freeman.

Melissa is survived by a son, Landan Kent; a daughter, Avery Grace Brown; four sisters, Ronda Blasingame of Clarkson, Mississippi, Sarah (Kenneth) Arnold of West Point, Mississippi, Edna Blasingame of Weir, Mississippi, and Michelle Blasingame of Clarkson, Mississippi; six nieces, Amanda Hazzard of West Point, Mississippi, Jamie Freeman of Starkville, Mississippi, Courtney Harrison of Eupora, Mississippi, Elizabeth Oswalt Gilbert of Eupora, Mississippi, Avery Beth Gray of Mantee, Mississippi, and Jayleigh Freeman of Starkville, Mississippi; a soon-to-be niece, Isabella Grace Arnold; four nephews, Daniel (Ashley) Arnold of Mantee, Mississippi, Chanc Mathis of Starkville, Mississippi, Easton Arnold of Mantee, Mississippi, and Joequan Freeman; two Godchildren, Destiny and Makayla Sibley of Eupora, Mississippi and many more children who she loved and they loved her. She is also survived by a host of uncles, aunts, and cousins.

A memorial service for Melissa Kay Blasingame will be held Sunday, August 23, 2020 at 2:00 p.m. at Clarkson Baptist Church, Mathiston, Mississippi. Brother Tim Hudson will be officiating the services. Wise Reed Funeral Home will be in charge of arrangements.
