Mary Gwen Woods Sisson
February 14, 1972 - March 13, 2022
Eupora, Mississippi
Mary Gwen Woods Sisson, age 50, passed away peacefully going to her heavenly home surrounded by her family on March 13, 2022 at North Mississippi Medical Center in Tupelo, Mississippi. Gwen is the daughter of Jerald and Betty Pearson Woods and the wife of Pepper Sisson.
Gwen will long be remembered as a spiritual leader in her quiet, sweet way nurturing so many through her writing, her Facebook ministry, and her personal testimonies. Gwen was always encouraging others and blessing them with her gentle spirit. Originally from Stewart, Gwen graduated from Eupora High School and attended four years at the University of Mississippi majoring in journalism. She used her years of study writing for the North Mississippi Christian Family Magazine, working with the First Baptist Church in Eupora, Facebook religious study groups, and many other religious events. Pepper recalls going with Gwen to many events where they were able to share their faith with countless people such as Morgan Freeman. They loved being together witnessing for the Lord in their own special way. Gwen loved spending time with family and Jeremy's boys, her nephews Jarod and Eli. Every Sunday evening she and Pepper spent time with Mitch's family, and again especially enjoyed time spent with his daughters, Georgia and Maggie. Pepper and Gwen shared a special bond with each other and always laughed together as they regularly watched Hee Haw on television. She will always be remembered for her beautiful smile as she shared her faith in the Lord.
She is survived by her parents, Jerald B. and Betty Pearson Woods; her husband, Matthew Pepper Sisson; her brother, Jeremy Wade Woods; and many aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews who loved her dearly.
Gwen is preceded in death by Pepper's parents, William Allen "Bill" and Sandra Sisson. Gwen was especially close to Sandra who preceded her in death by only two months.
