Mary Elizabeth Cooper, age 78, passed away on Friday, January 26, 2024, at North Mississippi Medical Center in Tupelo, Mississippi. She was born on June 25, 1945, to Warren and Elizabeth Clanton Rico.

Mary was a lifelong resident of Eupora, Mississippi. She was married to Riley Cooper for 61 years and together they raised two daughters. She worked for many years at the Webster County Schools District cafeteria and loved all of the kids she saw every day. In her spare time, she enjoyed fishing, going to yard sales, and shopping with her grandchildren. She attended West Eupora Church of God. Her entire family will miss her dearly.

Mary is survived by her husband, Riley Cooper, of Eupora, Mississippi; two daughters, Pam Hodges (Willie) of Eupora, Mississippi and Jan Haven of Eupora, Mississippi; one sister, Myrtle Cooper (Rodney) of Eupora, Mississippi; four grandchildren, Gray Cooper, Krystle (Antoine) Robinson, Austin Clark, all of Eupora, Mississippi, and Abby Cooper of Ackerman, Mississippi; nine great grandchildren, Cole, Eli, Landen, Julieanna, Tristan, Ashlynn, Addison, Kaiden and Taylor all of Eupora, Mississippi; and one great-great grandson, Xavier of Eupora, Mississippi.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Warren and Elizabeth Clanton Rico.

Services for Mary Cooper will be held on Wednesday, January 31, 2024, at 2p.m. at Wise Reed Funeral Home in Eupora. A visitation will be held prior to the service from 12 p.m. until 2 p.m. Officiating the services are Brother Jesse Strider and Brother Waymon Betts. Pallbearers are Austin Clark, Gray Cooper, Eli Clark, Merle Russell, Landon Robinson, and Steve Box. Graveside and Committal Services will be held in the Chapel. Burial will follow at Mt. Zion Baptist Church in Eupora, Mississippi. Wise Reed Funeral Home is in charge of all arrangements.
