Lacy Allen Dean was born November 10, 1937, to Oscar Eugene and Evier Box Dean of Choctaw County and passed away October 7, 2023, at his home in Choctaw County, MS.
He was a retired member of the National Guard and MS State Guard. He was an active member of the Eupora Masonic Lodge #423 and had just got his 50 year pin, Eastern Star, Union Volunteer Fire Department, and Tomnolen Baptist Church.
He loved to fish and spent many days at Eupora Lake on his boat.
He worked at Futorian Furniture Company. After retiring, he spent his days during the summer mowing lawns and cemeteries.
He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Patsy Wells Dean; one son, Ricky (Lynn) Dean of Eupora; two daughters, Paula (Ken) Mitchell of Mantee and Jan (Terry) Smith of Eupora; a bonus son, Shane (Pam) Box, of Oregon, Illinois; five granddaughters, Marie (Brent) Hendrix of Osceola, Arkansas, Chelsea (Cutter) Petty of Eupora, Caylin Smith and Drew McGee of Eupora, Lindsy (James) Johnson of Eupora, and Beth (Wesley) Edwards of Starkville; five great grandsons, Jacob Dean, Blake Johnson, Asher Petty, Caleb Edwards, and waiting the arrival any day now of Dallas Hendrix; and two bonus great grands, Sophie Tindall and Jase Tindall; three brothers; Nelson (Melanie) Dean of Eupora, Dell Dean of Stewart, E.W. (Teri) Dean of Eupora; and one sister, Jeanette Russell of Eupora; two close friends, Wayne and Earl Baker; and a host cousins, nieces, nephews, & friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Eugene and Evier Dean; two sisters, Nellie Dean and Maveline Wilson of Eupora.
Funeral Services for Lacy Allen Dean will be held on Wednesday, October 11, 2023, at Tomnolen Baptist Church in Eupora, Ms at 11 a.m. A visitation will be held Tuesday, October 10, 2023, at Wise Reed Funeral Home from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. Officiating the services will be Brother Don Parrish and Brother Chance Parrish. Burial will follow at Wood Springs Cemetery in Choctaw County. Pallbearers are Keith Wilson, Greg Dean, Mark Dean, Scott Dean, Shane Knight, Anthony Rushing, Kevin Dean, Michael Russel, and Melvin Russell. Wise Reed Funeral Home is in charge of all arrangements.
