Kathleen Taylor
Eupora, Mississippi
August 4, 1935 – May 24, 2020
Kathleen Taylor, aged 84, passed away surrounded by her loved ones at her daughter's home in Diamondhead, Mississippi on May 24, 2020. She was born on August 4, 1935 to the late Thomas Shelley and Lottie Elizabeth Trainer Davis and was married to the late V. A. Taylor.
Kathleen graduated from Drones Business College in Jackson, Mississippi. After marrying the love of her life, "Sonny", she became a full-time homemaker, mother, and wife. She lived her life devoted to her family and her church, Mount Zion Baptist Church. She taught a Sunday School class for fifty-eight years. She was always one of the "ladies of the church" who headed up all activities for special meals at the church which was evidenced in her great cooking. She enjoyed working with her flowers in her yard. She and her late husband, V. A., were devoted to each other; when you saw one of them you usually saw the other. For the last year Kathleen had lived with her daughter and her family, Kathy and "Buck" Parker at Diamondhead, Mississippi.
Kathleen Taylor is survived by her two daughters, Mary Katherine ("Buck") Parker of Diamondhead, Mississippi and Teresa Lynn (Jonathan) James of Laurel, Mississippi; four grandchildren, James Bradley Johnson, Jackson Ramsey James, Matilyn Taylor James, and Christa Parker Duhe; one great-grandchild, Cameron Parker Duhe; and her church family and friends who were more like family to her.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Thomas Shelley and Lottie Elizabeth Trainer Davis, and her husband, V. A. Taylor.
