Joseph Edward "Joe Ed" Gilliland

Joseph Edward Gilliland, affectionally referred to as Joe Ed was born February 23, 1946. He was the son of the late Earl Gilliland and the late Dovie Dalton Gilliland. He became a self-employed carpenter and married Rannie McKee in September of 1978. They raised two children, Chad and Sonya. He was a member of the Cumberland Baptist church since childhood and later, attended Blythe Creek Church. As a family-oriented man, Joe Ed loved spending time with his grandchildren and cooking with all his family gathered around. He is described as just a good ole' boy who also loved riding his motorcycle and spending time riding on the river in his boat fishing.

Mr. Gilliland is survived by his wife, Rannie of Maben; a son, Chad Tharp of Maben; one daughter, Sonya Graham of Alabama; one brother, Earl Gilliland Jr. of Cumberland; one sister, Reba Miles (Rickey) of Tennessee; two grandchildren, Kelbie Tharp and Gabbie Graham; two great grandchildren Chandler and Beckham Liggins and a host of nieces, nephews, sister in laws, and brother in laws.

Joseph Gilliland is preceded in death by parents Earl and Dovie Gilliland and his sister, Earline Love.
