John L. McCain, 79, of Maben, Mississippi passed away at his home on September 30, 2018 after an extended illness. He was born on October 14, 1938 to Willie and Laura Wiggins McCain.

Mr. McCain enjoyed life and had a great sense of humor. His family affectionately said that if he did not aggravate you, he did not love you. And he definitely loved his family. He also had a constant companion, his pet dog, Sadie. Hunting wild hogs was his favorite sport. He was also a member of the Church of God.

He is survived by his wife, Polly Buford McCain of Maben, MS; three sons, Clint (Missy) McCain, of Maben, MS, George (Ginger) Gazaway Jr., of Alton, MO, and Tim (Jennifer) Gazaway, of Mathiston, MS; two daughters, Tami (Mike) Moseley of Maben, MS, and Bobbie (Rob) Elliott of West Plains, MO; one daughter-in-law, Brenda Gazaway of Maben; three brothers, Jeff McCain of Greenwood, Charlie McCain of Greenwood, and Steve (Debbie) McCain of Greenwood; and many grandchildren and great grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Willie and Laura Wiggins McCain; one son, Kenny Gazaway Sr.; and a host of brothers and sisters.
