Jimmy Wayne McLemore
January 12, 1955 – June 6, 2026
Jimmy Wayne McLemore of Eupora passed away peacefully at home on June 6, 2026, at the age of 71. Born on January 12, 1955, to C.B. and Marie McLemore, Jimmy lived a life defined by service, kindness, and unwavering devotion to his family and community.
For more than 27 years, Jimmy proudly served in law enforcement, dedicating his life to protecting and helping others. He also spent many years working in Emergency Medical Services, served as Webster County Coroner and volunteered with local fire departments. After 12 years of serving as Director of Webster County's 911 Telecommunications Center, he retired for some well deserved rest and relaxation. He deeply valued working alongside fellow law enforcement officers, firefighters, dispatchers, and emergency medical personnel, forming lifelong friendships while answering the call to serve.
Beyond his career, Jimmy found joy in life's simple pleasures. He loved aviation, gardening, attending parades, concerts and Air Shows, and especially looked forward to his Friday night fish dinners. ZZ Top was always on his radio unless it was Christmas time. Christmas was his favorite time of year, bringing him great happiness as he celebrated the season with family and friends. While he loved decorating his house and yard for Christmas for all the local children to enjoy, he secretly loved it more than they ever could. He also adamantly claimed that he wrote the tune to Jingle Bell Rock before it was ever recorded. Jimmy also had a special love for animals, and his pets brought him comfort and companionship throughout the years.
Jimmy is survived by his loving wife of 19 years, Bekki Jones McLemore; his brothers, Steve McLemore and David McLemore, both of Eupora; his daughters, Heather Johnson (Jonathan) of Florida and Ashley Yarbrough (Brandon) of Caledonia; his sons, Cory McLemore (Ashley) of Ackerman, Heath McLemore (Stephanie) of Florida, and Brendon Jones of Eupora; his grandchildren, Mitch, Tucker, Ian, Logan, and Adalyn; and his great-grandchildren, Margaret and Mary James.
He was preceded in death by his parents, C.B. and Marie McLemore.
Visitation will be held Wednesday, June 10, 2026, from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Wise Reed Funeral Home in Eupora. Funeral services will be held Thursday, June 11, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. in the Wise Reed Chapel, followed by a graveside service at Webster Memorial Gardens.
Graciously serving as pallbearers are Tom Booth, Justin Brown, Scott Dean, Tanner Pritchard, Mitchell Shaw, and Tucker Shaw.
The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to everyone who has offered prayers, support, and kindness during this difficult time. Jimmy's legacy of compassion, service, laughter, and love will continue to live on in the hearts of all who were blessed to know him. Because, as he would loudly proclaim, in the immortal words of Billy Gibbons, “I’m bad, I’m nationwide”.
