James Edward McCarter, 67, of Dancy, Mississippi passed away on September 9, 2018 at North Mississippi Long Term Care in Eupora, Mississippi. He was born on May 24, 1951 to Elmer H. and Gussie Wright McCarter.

Mr. McCarter was a member of the Church of Christ. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and watching sports. He worked with his family in brick masonry.

He is survived by five sisters, Margaret (James) Oswalt of Dancy, MS, Dorothy Mann and Claude McKee of Phoeba, MS; Bonnie (Jimmy) Hood of Grenada, MS, Lou (Marty) Adragna of New Orleans, LA, and Peggy (Mike) Pittman of Dancy, MS; two brothers, John (Debe) McCarter and Mike (Lisa) McCarter of Holly Springs, MS; two sisters-in-law, Patsy McCarter of Dancy, MS and Wanda (Scott) McCarter McBride of Mathiston, MS; and host of nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents, Elmer and Gussie McCarter, and two brothers, Charlie and David McCarter.
