James Charles Cooper

James Charles Cooper, 84, of Eupora, Mississippi passed away on December 20, 2018 at his home. He was born September 17, 1934 to Robert Earl and Mildred Walton Cooper.

Mr. Cooper received his high school diploma from Slate Springs High School, married, and was soon drafted into the Army. His training for the Army was in Arkansas. After returning from the Army he moved his family to Michigan where he worked with General Motors. He also worked on the Canadian Pipeline. He was a devoted NASCAR fan. He enjoyed riding his snow mobile, fishing, dirt track racing, RVing and riding his dune buggy. Anyone who met him liked him. He was a great guy and did not meet a stranger.

Mr. Cooper is survived by three sons, James (Sylvia) Cooper, Jr. of Fenton, Michigan, Jeff Cooper of Walthall, Mississippi, and Robert (Melissa) Cooper of Swartz Creek, Michigan; a daughter, Kelly Jurosek of Linden, Michigan; a brother, Tommy Cooper of Hollywood, California; a sister, Robbie (Jimmy) Hardin of Calhoun City, Mississippi; seven grandchildren, Amber, Jessica, Bryan, Tommy, John, Jordan, and Grace; and three great-grandchildren, Cooper, Alexander, and Ava.

Mr. Cooper is preceded in death by his parents, Robert Earl and Mildred Walton Cooper; a sister, Myra Hill, and his wife, Mavis Abby Cooper.

Visitation is at Wise Reed Funeral Home on Thursday, December 27, 2018, from 12:00 to 1:00 p.m. Funeral services are at Wise Reed Chapel at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, December 27, 2018. Pallbearers are Robert "Bobby" Cooper, Jeff Cooper, James Cooper, and Benny Neal. Burial will follow at North Union Cemetery. Wise Reed Funeral Home is in charge of all arrangements.
