Hattie Bertine Fowler 87, passed away on February 29, 2024, at North Mississippi Medical Center in Eupora, Mississippi. She was born on November 25, 1936, to Irene Stanley and William Cooksey in Webster County MS.

As a faithful member of White Hill Baptist Church, she loved the Lord. She enjoyed gardening, flowers, and working in her yard. She raised four boys, but her grandchildren and great grandchildren were her world. When she was able, she delighted in cooking for her family who, in turn, boasted that her banana pudding was the best in the world.

Bertine is survived by four sons, Jimmy Fowler, Johnny Fowler (Donna), Jeffery Fowler ( Cindy), and Gerald Fowler, all of Eupora; one brother Jerry Cooksey of Eupora; three sisters Sybil Stone of Fulton, Ilene White of Eupora and Carolyn Sisk of Mathiston; six grandchildren and ten great grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her parents, William, and Irene Cooksey; four brothers, Woodrow, Charles, Robert and Homer Cooksey; one sister, Martha Cooksey.

A visitation will be held from 12 am until 2:00 pm with funeral service following at 2:00 pm on Sunday, March 3,2024, at White Hill Baptist Church in Webster County. Interment will take place at White Hill Cemetery.

Brother Jack McQuirrey and Brother Waymon Betts will act as officiates for the services. Wise Reed Funeral Home is in charge of all arrangements.
