George Gazaway, Sr.

August 5, 1945 – October 15, 2018

George Gazaway, Sr., 73, passed away October 15, 2018 at Eupora North Mississippi Medical Center. Mr. Gazaway was born August 5, 1945 to Bennie and Vada Gazaway, Sr.

Mr. Gazaway worked for the Utilities Services at Sunset Subdivision in Starkville, Mississippi. He was a former Mississippi National Guardsman where he served for eight years. He was an outdoorsman who enjoyed fishing. Just sitting on the porch listening to nature was Mr. George's favorite way to spend his extra time. He loved his family and spending time with his grandchildren. He was a member of the New Life Worship Center.

He is survived by his two sons, George (Ginger) Gazaway, Jr., of Alton, MO; Tim (Jennifer) Gazaway of Mathiston, MS; two daughters, Tammy (Mike) Moseley of Maben, MS, and Bobbie (Rob) Elliott of West Plaines, MO; one brother, Walter Gazaway of Sturgis, MS; one sister, Daisy Gorsech of Goshen, Indiana; twenty three grandchildren and twenty two great grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Bennie and Vada Gazaway Sr.; one son, Kenny Gazaway Sr.; five brothers, and three sisters.

Funeral services will be held on October 18, 2018 at Wise Reed Chapel at 2 p.m. Visitation will be held on October 18, 2018 at Wise Reed Funeral Home from 12 p.m. to 2 p.m. Officiating the service will be Brother Donnie Davis. Pallbearers will be Henry Fuller, Dean Mendez, Cameron Mendez, Mike Doss, David Wayne, and Jimmy Robinson. Burial wil be at Beth-Eden Lutheran Church Cemetery in Winston County, Mississippi. Wise Reed Funeral Home is in charge of all arrangements.
