Gary Gene Clark, age 57, passed away on June 19, 2020. He was born on August 29, 1962 to Bobby and Mary Nell Betts Clark.

Gary graduated from Mathiston High School and Wood Junior College. He continued his education at the University of Mississippi Medical Center and became a registered nurse. Throughout his career he worked at the University of Mississippi Medical Center in Jackson, Mississippi, The Baptist Hospital in Jackson, Mississippi, River Oaks in Jackson, Mississippi and Oktibbeha County Hospital in Starkville, Mississippi. He later worked as a travel nurse and experienced new places throughout the United States from California to Maine. He was affiliated with the First United Methodist Church in Madison, Mississippi.

Gary often made the statement that he could do anything if he saw it on television. He was sometimes proven wrong, but he would never admit it. He loved all kinds of outdoor sports such as hunting and fishing and was also an avid Ole Miss fan. His love of the outdoors included caring for animals of all kinds. He had a rescue cat named "Harry".

He is survived by his mother, Nell Clark of Starkville, Mississippi; two sisters, Angela (Jim) Wise of Lutz, Florida and Tricia (Juan) Corrigan of Starkville, Mississippi; one brother, Glenn (Brook) Clark of Bentonia, Mississippi; three nephews Zac Clark, Diego Corrigan, and Gabriel Corrigan; and one niece, Hadley (Kirk) McGehee.

He is preceded in death by his father, Bobby Clark; his paternal grandparents, James Clark and Annie Clark; and his maternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Bill Betts.

Services will be held on Wednesday, June 24, 2020 at 11:00 a.m. at Wise Reed Chapel in Eupora, Mississippi. Officiating will be Brother Waymon Betts. Visitation will be from 10:00 until 11:00 a.m. at Wise Reed Funeral Home. Burial will follow the services for the immediate family only at Maben Memorial Gardens. Wise Reed Funeral Home is in charge of all arrangements.
