Ethelene Medders Hodges, 83, passed away on Thursday, November 14, 2019, at her home surrounded by her family. She was born on May 11, 1936 to Jake and Tommie Medders.

Mrs. Hodges was a one of a kind lady. Everyone smiles when you ask about her. Her family laughingly say that she was "sassy" … loving but direct. She was a great cook, and loved her gardening, flowers, and family.

She is survived by one son, Steve (Vanessa) Hodges of Eupora; two daughters, Shirley (Moe) McCain of Eupora and Sarah Davis of Eupora; four grandchildren, Jamie (Stephanie) McCain of Eupora; Sam (Jamie) Hodges of Oak Grove, Louisiana, Melissa (Kojak) Sellers of Carlisle, Arkansas, and D. J. (Kym) McCain of Eupora; eleven great-grandchildren, Destiny Hodges, Tyler Smith, Logan Hodges, Camron Smith, Briggs Mcilwain, Emily Hodges, Savana Smith, Halle Mcilwain, Maggie McCain, Jace McCain, Bruce McCain, Olivia Sellers, Destiny Sellers, and Tristen Sellers; two brothers, Rayburn Medders of Eupora and Clytee (Phyliss) Medders of Eupora; three sisters, Thelma Painter of Timberlake, North Carolina, Ann Patridge of Mathiston, Mississippi, and Eara Bailey of Dalesville, Alabama; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Billie Hodges; her parents, Jake and Tommie Medders; a son, Sam Hodges; a daughter, Charlene Hodges; and two brothers and four sisters.

Funeral Services for Ethelene Medders Hodges will be held on Saturday, November 16, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. at Wise Reed Chapel. Visitation will be held on Friday, November 15, 2019 from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Wise Reed Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Mr. Pisgah Cemetery in Choctaw County, Mississippi. Officiating the service will be Brother Coy Fulgham.
