Ella Christine Flanagan Childress

Ella Christine Flanagan Childress, 84, passed away November 1, 2018 at North Mississippi Medical Center in Eupora, Mississippi. She was the daughter of John A. Flanagan and Myrtle Brown Green.

Mrs. Childress was known for being a hard-working lady. Throughout her life she worked at two different jobs. She retired from Wells Lamont after working there for 20 years and retired from Hardee's after 20 years. She was a member of the Church of God.

She is survived by three sons: John A. (Sherry) Childress, Jr. of Eupora, Richard Lee Childress of Mobile, Alabama, and Michael Wayne Childress of Louisiana; three daughters: Connie Whitmire of Eupora, Mississippi, Billie Mae Childress of Fort Hood, Texas, and Lisa Austin of Ft. Riley, Kansas; fifteen grandchildren, Rose (Jason) Childress, Jeannie Dawn (Lance Slayton) Childress, Jessica Christine (Chris) Hardwick, Chasity (Bill) McCune, Mathew Green, Billy James Snellings, Richard Lee Childress, Crystal Childress, Brandon Childress, Nicholes Childress, Tuesdee Childress, Stevie Gail Childress, Felicia Austin, Audie Austin, Cindy Austin, and Sylvia Renee Austin; twenty four great-grandchildren, Chandler Hodges, Presley Dean, Oaklee Dean, Hailee Rodgers, Blake Rodgers, Camden Rodgers, Dillion Waddell, Shane Vasquez, Christopher Waddell, Jaylen Waddell, Jadein Waddell, Jamie Grace Waddell, Clark Butch Waddell, Steven Green, William McCune, Christian McCune, Destiny McCune, Neshon Nichole Austin, Justine Renee Evans, Willie Maxie Jr., Destiny Clark, Harley Maxie, Jackson Austin, and Austin Denley.

She is preceded in death by her husband, John A. Childress; a son, Steve Childress; three grandsons, Johnny Lee Childress, Clark Butch Waddell, and Christopher Gray Green; father, William Flanagan; and mother, Myrtle Brown Green.

Funeral services will be held on Sunday, November 4, 2018 at Wise Reed Funeral Home in Eupora, Mississippi at 2 p.m. Officiating the service will be Brother Terry Wills. Visitation will be prior to the funeral service from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Wise Reed Funeral Home in Eupora, Mississippi. Pallbearers are Shane Vasquez, Christopher Waddell, Steven Green, Christian McCune, Blake Rodgers, and Chandler Hodges.
