Edward Earl Lacy, 83, passed away on September 30, 2019 surrounded by his family. He was born on February 6, 1936 to James Elwood and Earnesteen Rogers Lacy.
Although born in Kentucky, Mr. Lacy had spent the last 50 years in Choctaw County, Mississippi.
He was retired from the United States National Park Service where he had served for 28 years with most of those years being served on the Natchez Trace Parkway. He is probably best known for his love of singing; having dedicated approximately 25 years leading the singing at Diversicare in Eupora, Mississippi. He loved spending time with his family and was a member of Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church.
He is survived by his wife, Mabel Lacy of Ackerman, MS; two sons, Tim (Tronnie) Lacy of Clinton, MS and James Lacy of Tishomingo, MS; two brothers, Phillip (Edwina) Lacy of Scott City, MO, and Glen (Sharon) Lacy of Oran, MO; one sister, Pam (Verbon) Waters of Decatur, AL; two grandchildren, Shannon Lacy and Ryan Lacy.
He is preceded in death by his parents, James Elwood and Earnesteen Rogers Lacy; stepmother, Freida Lacy; brother, Odell Lacy; and sister, Marta Lacy Hargrave.
Funeral services for Edward Earl Lacy will be held on October 2, 2019 at 3 p.m. at Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church in Choctaw County, Mississippi. Visitation will be held on October 2, 2019 from 2 p.m. until 3 p.m. at Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church in Choctaw County, Mississippi. Officiating the services will be Bro. Wyatt Harvey with assistance from Bro. Bill Taylor. Burial will follow in Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church Cemetery. Wise Reed Funeral Home is in charge of all arrangements.
