Earl Jerry Williamson, Jr.

December 1, 1950 - August 13, 2018

Earl Jerry Williamson, 67, passed away on August 13, 2018 at his home in Choctaw County. Jerry was born December 1, 1950 to Earl Jerry Williamson, Sr. and Margaret Shepard in Texas.

Jerry was a Vietnam veteran having served three tours of duty during the Vietnamese War. Serving in Special Ops as an explosives expert, he survived three different helicopter crashed and was awarded the Silver Cross and Purple Heart metals. He was a hero and a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars.

He moved from Carlisle, Texas to Choctaw County approximately fifteen years ago where he enjoyed the outdoors. His outdoor activities included gardening, fishing, hunting, and trapping beaver. He especially enjoyed going to Colorado to hunt wild game. His family remember him best from times when they sat around the picnic table visiting with family in his backyard.

He is survived by three sons, Charles Fancher Howard of Galveston, Texas, Earl Jerry (Melissa) Williamson III of Ackerman, MS, and Billy Wayne Williamson of Trinity, Texas; one sister, Jolynn (Larry) Ostrome of Carlisle, Texas; and three grandchildren, Earl Jerry Williamson IV, Jimmie Wayne Williamson, Dustin Woitysiak, and Kassidy Hay. He is preceded in death by his parents, Jerry and Margaret Williamson, a brother, Sandy Williamson, and two sister, Bobbie Sue Williamson and Kathy Williamson.
