Dudley Lamar Peacock, age 73, passed away on October 11, 2020 at Baptist Memorial Golden Triangle Hospital in Columbus, Mississippi. He was born on May 18, 1947 to the late Ephriam and Lucille Talley Peacock.
Dudley attended school in Cleveland, Mississippi and began work at D&L Manufacturing in the tool and dye shop. He continued work at Duo-Fast Corporation in Cleveland until he retired. Enjoying crappie fishing, catfishing, trot lining, and squirrel hunting, he was a true outdoorsman. Not only did he enjoy the outdoors, but he enjoyed cooking for family and friends who said his hush puppies were delicious. His son, Jeremy, remembers their cabin at Benoit and his dad cooking on the lake for him and his friends. He said that his dad was like a father to his friends. After retirement he loved riding around in his truck with his buddy, Dale Dean. He was affiliated with Ebenezer Baptist Church in Stewart, Mississippi.
He is survived by one son, Jeremy (Robin) Peacock of Merritt Island, Florida; four brothers, William Grayson Peacock of Stewart, Mississippi, Venice Harold (Sylvia) Peacock of West, Mississippi, Reginald (Martha) Peacock of Grenada, Mississippi, and Edward E. Peacock of Stewart, Mississippi; two sisters, Charlotte Ann Wills (Ray) of Stewart, Mississippi and Doris Peacock of Orlando, Florida; and one grandchild, Ophelia Sage Peacock. Many nieces and nephews also survive Mr. Peacock.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Ephriam and Lucille Talley Peacock and two brothers, Johnny Shirley Peacock and Billy Joe Peacock.
Services will be held on Wednesday, October 14, 2020 at 1:00 p.m. at Ebenezer Baptist Church in Choctaw County, Mississippi. Officiating will be Reginald Peacock. Visitation will be from 12:00 until 1:00 p.m. at Ebenezer Baptist Church in Choctaw County. Burial will follow the services in Ebenezer Cemetery. Wise Reed Funeral Home is in charge of all arrangements.
