Donald Ray Dykes

Donald Ray Dykes of Starkville, Mississippi passed away on Tuesday, April 29, 2025, at the age of 77. Mr. Dykes was born in Alabama on March 24, 1948, to Reu Dykes and Waldean Perkins Dykes.

He was married to Ruby Eiland for thirty plus years. During which they raised a daughter and a son. He worked for William Wells as an installer of ceramic tiles. He was of the Baptist faith and for as long as he was able, he was an avid outdoorsman enjoying hunting and fishing. He particularly enjoyed watching old westerns.

Don is survived by one brother, Bobby Dykes (Judy) of Alabama; two sisters, Kathy Huffman (Donald) and Vickie Turner (Mark), both of Starkville; four grandchildren, and a host of great grandchildren as well as nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by both parents Reu and Waldean Dykes, his wife Ruby Eiland Dykes, son Dewayne Dykes, daughter Donnell Arney, and two brothers Charles Dykes and Larry Dykes.

A graveside service will be held for Mr. Dykes on Thursday, May 1, 2025, at 10:00 am at the Chester Baptist Cemetery in Chester, MS. Interment is at Chester Cemetery. Reverand Rob Faulk will officiate. Wise Reed Funeral Home is in charge of all arrangements.
