Obituary

Della Butcher, 97, of Decatur, Georgia passed away on April 25, 2019. She was born on July 2, 1921 to James and Vina Given Butcher. She was the last living sister of Mrs. Mira Watson.

Miss Butcher was born in Morris, West Virginia. She later moved to Washington, D. C. where Mrs. Mira Watson and her husband lived. She worked in one of the large department stores there until finally relocating in Avondale Estates, Georgia in 1966 which was her home for her final thirty-four years. Each move she made in her life was to be close to her sister, Mira. She worked at Rich's Department Store until retirement. Living a life dedicated to her work and her church made up Miss Della's life. She was an active member of the First Baptist Church

Miss Butcher is survived by her sister, Mira Watson (Travis) of Eupora, Mississippi; numerous nieces and nephews including Sandra Taylor (Bill) of Eupora, Mississippi and Greg Watson(Pam) of White, Georgia; and many cousins.

She is preceded in death by her parents, James and Vina Given Butcher; four brothers, Orville Butcher, Willie Butcher, Flava Butcher, and Gail Butcher; and two sisters, Velma Currence and Beatrice Hamric.

Funeral Services for Miss Della Butcher will be Monday, April 29, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. at Wise Reed Chapel in Eupora, Mississippi. Brother Travis Gray will be officiating the services. Visitation will be held on Monday, April 29, 2019 from 10:30 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. at Wise Reed Funeral Home in Eupora, Mississippi. Burial will follow at Eupora City Cemetery in Eupora, Mississippi.
