David Wesley Clanton, aged 57, passed away on May 9, 2020 peacefully at his home surrounded by his family. He was born on July 24, 1962 to the late J. V. and Mandy Wooten Clanton.

David loved his Lord and enjoyed the praise time at Pine Lake Church in Starkville, Mississippi. He had an overflowing personality that reached out to everyone. He was loved by all for his fun spirit. His family only realized later in life that he had a love for painting and excelled in it.

David is survived by his brother, Curtis Clanton (Peggy) of Eupora, Mississippi; and nieces and nephews, Anna Smith (Joey) of Maben, Mississippi; Kayse Stelzriede (Mike) of Maben, Mississippi; Amanda Walker (Chris) of Florence, Mississippi; Terry Clanton of Columbus, Mississippi; Amber Clanton of Jackson, Mississippi; Brad Clanton (Millie) of Jackson, Mississippi; and Janice Wade (Kenneth) of Eupora, Mississippi.

He is preceded in death by his parents, J.V. and Mandy Wooton Clanton; one brother, Junior Clanton; and one sister, Wanda Hinkey.

A visitation for family and close friends of David Wesley Clanton will be held on Wednesday, May 13, 2020 from 2 p.m. until 3 p.m. A graveside service will follow the visitation on Wednesday, May 13, 2020 at Mt. Zion Baptist Church Cemetery in Webster County, Mississippi. Officiating the service will be Brother Jason King. Pallbearers will be Joey Smith, Mike Stelzriede, Noah Stelzriede, Chris Walker, John Hinkey, and Jerry Wilker. Wise Reed Funeral Home assisted with all arrangements.
