Burney Carson Baxter, 65, of Eupora, Mississippi passed away on November 29, 2018 at his home. He was born on April 1, 1953 to Parnell and Donnie Collins Baxter. Mr. Baxter and his wife, Carolyn, were lifetime residents of the Webster County area.
He worked as supervisor at Mohaco in Eupora, Mississippi for 30 years. After leaving Mohaco, he went to work at Franklin Manufacturing where he served as Leaderman for 16 years. His son, James Baxter, was best friends with his father. They enjoyed the outdoors, going to Grenada fishing where he had built them a cabin and hunting together. Being a wood craftsman, he built the cabinets in his son's home. He was much respected and loved by his fellow hunters, his friends, and his family. He was a member of Hebron Baptist Church.
He is survived by his wife, Frances Carolyn Henley Baxter, of Eupora, Mississippi; his mother, Donnie Collins Baxter; one son, James (Vianka) Baxter; one sister, Shirley (Luther) Foreman of Columbus, Mississippi; three grandchildren, Monica (Stephen) Lane of Port St. Lucie, Florida, Hannah Baxter, and Isabel Baxter; and two great step grandchildren, Corbin Lane and Authur Lane. He is preceded in death by his father, Parnell Baxter, and brother, Bruce Baxter.
Funeral services for Burney Carson Baxter will be Sunday, December 2, 2018 at 2 p.m. at Wise Reed Funeral Home in Eupora, Mississippi. Visitation will be Saturday, December 1, 2018 from 5:00 until 8:00 p.m. Officiating the services will be Brother Charles White. Pallbearers will be J.R. Baxter, Benji Baxter, Justin Baxter, Chris Baxter, Wayne Baker, J.R. McClure, Royce Burson, and Parnell Donohoo. In lieu of flowers please make donations to Sapa Cemetery. Wise Reed Funeral Home is in charge of all arrangements.
