Betty Canterbury Fason, age 85, passed away on October 18, 2020 at her home in Eupora, Mississippi surrounded by her loved ones. She was born on September 8, 1935 to the late Eulyess Arthur and Ina Gann Canterbury.

Betty was married to the late Johnny Fason for sixty-four years. They began dating when she was only fourteen years old and they were married four years later. She graduated from Eupora High School. Together, she and Johnny raised four daughters and one son. After retiring with forty-four years from Wells Lamont, she and Johnny enjoyed road trips to Branson and Gatlinburg where they enjoyed vacationing and listening to country music shows. She would spend her quiet time working crossword puzzles and reading. She was a member of Stewart Baptist Church.

She is survived by one son, Mike (Sherry) Fason of Stewart; four daughters, Sherry (Donnie) Bridges and Gerry (Martin) Jacks both of Stewart, Mississippi, Susan (Terry) McCain of Center Grove, Mississippi, and Gail (David) Wilson of Eupora, Mississippi; thirteen grandchildren, Randy (Michelle) Bridges, Leigh (Honer) Bridges Hill, Brandi (Jonathon) Bridges Velcek, Amanda (Bill) Jacks Brooks, John (Misty) Jacks, Brooke Fason, Caleb (Haleigh) Fason, Cindy (Colin) Ward, Heather (Matt) Lehr, Samantha (Ronnie) McCain Clardy, Corey (Brandy) McCain, Lynn (David) Wilson Wilkinson, and Bryan Wilson; and twenty-nine great-grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Eulyess Arthur and Ina Gann Canterbury; her husband, Johnny B. Fason; two brothers, J. E. Canterbury and Robert Canterbury; one sister, Ann Robinson; and two great-grandchildren, Bailey Claire Wilson and Madison Ward.

Services will be held on Wednesday, October 21, 2020 at 2:00 p.m. at Wise Reed Chapel. Officiating the service will be Brother Randy Bridges, Brother John Jacks, and Brother Chance Parish. Visitation will be from 12:00 until 2:00 p.m. at Wise Reed Funeral Home. Pallbearers are Caleb Fason, Bryan Wilson, Jonathon Velcek, Corey McCain, Bill Brooks, Honer Hill, Ronnie Clardy, and David Wilkinson. Honorary pallbearers are Charlie Bridges, Will Brooks, Liam Jacks, Nick Velcek, Jacob Velcek, Andrew Velcek, Anthony Fason, Raygen James, Bryson James, Cain Clardy, Cayden Clardy, and Mason McCain. Burial will follow the services at West Shady Grove Cemetery. Wise Reed Funeral Home is in charge of all arrangements.
