Benny Carl May, age 71, passed away on January 3, 2021 at North Mississippi Medical Center in Tupelo, Mississippi. He was born on September 19, 1949 to Carlyn and Inez Eiland May in Stewart, Mississippi. He was married to Ann Pyron May for fifty-one years.

Benny graduated from Kilmichael High School in 1967. He married his wife, Ann Pyron after meeting at Pine Forest Baptist Church. During his lifetime he enjoyed woodworking and gardening. After retirement from the Vaiden Carroll Montgomery County Correctional Facility, he liked spending time with his granddaughters. He took pleasure in helping them start their business, Stewart Nutrition, in Stewart, Mississippi. He was a deacon and a member of Pine Forest Baptist Church.

He is survived by his wife, Ann Pyron May of Stewart, Mississippi; one son, Randy (Beth) May of Stewart, Mississippi; two sisters, Stella (Buddy) Bridges of Carrollton, Mississippi and Judy (Larry) Floyd of Winona, Mississippi; and three granddaughters, Laura Beth May, Kristen May, and Ashley May, all of Stewart, Mississippi.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Carlyn and Inez Eiland May; one son, Greg May; and an infant brother, William Boyd May.

A graveside service will be held on Friday, January 8, 2021 at 2 p.m. at Pine Forest Baptist Church Cemetery in Stewart, Mississippi. A visitation will be held prior to the service in the cemetery from 1:30 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. Wise Reed Funeral Home is in charge of all arrangements.
