Benjamin Lee Shearer (Benjie)

Benjamin Lee Shearer (Benjie),died from injuries sustain in a collision with a combine in Egeland, ND, Monday, November 13, 2023. Benjie was born at Grenada Lake Medical Center on January 23, 1984.

He attended French Camp Elementary School and graduated from Weir High School in 2002. Benjie received his business degree from Mississippi State University in May of 2010. Benjie was employed by CoolSys, in Minot, ND. Benjie attended Minot First Baptist Church but was a member of the Crape Creek Baptist Church in Stewart, MS. Benjie enjoyed spending time with family and friends, but most of all, he loved being a daddy to his son, Ben. To know Benjie was to love Benjie. Benjie also graduated from HVAC school in Louisiana in 2019.

Benjie is survived by his 6-year-old son, Benjamin "Ben" Lee Shearer, Jr. of Minot, North Dakota; his mother, Nancy Burton Nail (Mike) of Stewart, Mississippi; his father, Jesse Ray Shearer, Jr. (Charlotte) of Kilmichael, Mississippi; his stepdad, Larry Franklin ( Cheryl) of Grenada, Mississippi; three brothers, Jesse Ray Shearer, III of Caledonia, Mississippi, Brian Shearer (Jennifer) of Stewart, Mississippi, his stepbrother, Larry Franklin, Jr, (Nichole); his nephews, Kirk (Christian) Shearer, Barrett (Morgan) Shearer, and Logan Shearer, all of Stewart, Mississippi; one niece, Raelyn Shearer of Stewart, Mississippi, and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. He also leaves behind a special friend whom he loved, Brea Dockter Zins, and her two daughters, Aspyn and Lennex of Mandan, North Dakota.

Benjie was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, L.C. Burton and Ruth Henning Gregg, his paternal grandparents, Ruth Tindoll Funderburk and Jesse Shearer, Sr. and stepbrother, Mark Nail.

Services will be at Wise-Reed Funeral Home in Eupora, Mississippi on Sunday, November 19, 2023 at 2 p.m. A visitation will be held prior to the services from 12 p.m. until 2 p.m. on Sunday, November 19, 2023 at Wise Reed Funeral Home. Officiating the service will be Reverend Brad Lathan, Reverend Darrell Powell, and Joey Hood. A burial will follow at Crape Creek Baptist Church in Stewart, Mississippi following the services. Pallbearers are Jesse Ray Shearer, Brian Shearer, Kirk Shearer, Barrett Shearer, Logan Shearer, and Joey Hood. The Honorary Pallbearer is David Burton. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to be given in Benjie's memory to Last House on the Block or Cady Hills and The Pines located in Columbus, Mississippi.
