Alvin D. Hunt, 75, of Ackerman, Mississippi, passed away at his home on Wednesday, October 23, 2019. He was born on October 13, 1944 to Alvin and Josephine Tyler Hunt. He was married to Betty Maddox Hunt.

Mr. Hunt was a lifetime resident of Ackerman, Mississippi. He was the National Tobacco Spitting Champion for three years. He especially enjoyed fishing, gardening, and cutting grass. He always kept an immaculate yard. He was a member of the Concord Baptist Church in Choctaw County, Mississippi.

Mr. Hunt is survived by his wife, Betty Maddox Hunt of Ackerman, Mississippi; two sons, Warren D. Hunt of Ackerman, Mississippi and George R. Hunt of Ackerman, Mississippi; two daughter-in-law's, Sherry Hunt of Calera, Alabama and Patricia Hunt of Ackerman, Mississippi; one sister, Joann Johnston of McCool, Mississippi; one niece, Shirley Douglas of McCool, Mississippi; two nephews, Clyde Johnston of Brandon, Mississippi and Billy Jo Johnston of McCool, Mississippi; and two grandchildren, Travis Sean Hunt and Joshua Hunt.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Alvin and Josephine Tyler Hunt; one son, Wendell D. Hunt; and one sister, Shirley Hunt.
