Alice Hood Evans, passed away peacefully on October 31, 2023, at the age of 88. She was born Alice Cornelia Hood, in Alva, MS on April 20, 1935, to John Wesley Hood and Hattie Virginia Clanton Hood.

Alice worked as a Supervisor at Garan Manufacturing, then as Switchboard Supervisor at North Mississippi Medical Center for over 40 years. She was a faithful member of Fellowship Baptist Church of Bellefontaine and a loyal supporter of North Union Cemetery.

Alice is preceded in death by her parents, John Wesley Hood and Hattie Virginia Clanton Hood; her husband, Joe Carroll Evans; brothers, Tilden Hood, Bonnie Hood, Boyd Hood, Floyd Hood, Carl Hood, and one sister, Ruby Richardson; daughters-in-law, Kimberly Dye Evans and Becky Murphy Evans.

She is survived by siblings, Jimmy (Bonnie) Hood of Grenada and Donna (Buddy) Macon of Bellefontaine; sons, Doug (Melissa) Evans of Bellefontaine and Tal Evans of Bellefontaine; Grandchildren; Brandy (Jes) Smith and Courtney Evans; great grandchildren; Elizabeth Smith, James Smith, Gracie Murphree, Brantley Murphree, and Wyatt Henson; a host of beloved Nieces and Nephews, and her beloved caretaker, Jeffery Watson.

A visitation for Ms. Evans will take place on Friday, November 3, 2023, from 12 until 2:00 pm. at Wise Reed Funeral Home with services to follow at 2:00 pm in the Wise Reed Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will be at North Union Cemetery in Bellefontaine. Officiating will be Brother Willy Weddle. In lieu of flowers, please donate to the North Union Cemetery fund, a project close to Alice's heart.
