Willie Earl Stoddard, aged 81, passed away on October 12, 2021 at his son’s home in Calhoun City, Mississippi. He was the son of the late Clyde and Lonnie Beck Stoddard.
Willie Earl was a lifetime resident of the Springhill Community in Webster County. He originally attended Springhill School but graduated from Eupora High School. He retired from HeatCraft in Grenada. Friends often called him by his nickname Buddin. During his early years he liked the Beatles and Elvis. He enjoyed his home based cb radio and talked to people all over the United States. He went by the call name of Boots. He also enjoyed riding his motorcycle. Once while visiting his sister in California, he purchased a motorcycle and rode it back home to Mississippi. Other passions included fixing computers, hunting and working on automobiles. His last vehicle restoration was a 1976 Ford pickup just before he became sick. During his last five months he lived with his son and family, and was very thankful for his new friends and hospice caretakers Mary McDonald and Thomas Hendrick.
Willie Earl is survived by his son, David (Shelly) Stoddard; two grandsons Tyler Stoddard and Grant Stoddard; and granddaughter Landyn Stoddard.
Willie Earl is preceded in death by his parents, Clyde Stoddard and Lonnie Beck Stoddard; his wife, Billie Sue Stevens; and his sister, Bobbie Jean Stoddard.
Graveside services for Willie Earl Stoddard will be Saturday, October 16, 2021 at 1:00 p.m. at Springhill Cemetery in Webster County. Visitation will be held prior to the service on Saturday, October 16, 2021 from 12:00 – 1:00 p.m. at Wise Reed Funeral Home in Eupora, MS. Officiating the services will be Brother Daniel Thompson. Pallbearers are Marion Card, Donald Card, Ronald Stoddard, Roy Hitt, Cam Avery, and Phil Hendrix. Honorary pallbearers are Tyler Stoddard and Grant Stoddard. Wise Reed Funeral Home is in charge of all arrangements.
