Obituary for Willie Card Hitt

Willie “Billie” Vaughan Card Hitt

Eupora, Mississippi

Willie “Billie” Vaughan Card Hitt, aged 88, passed away at her home in Walthall, Mississippi on August 25, 2021. She was the daughter of the late G. C. and Moree Trull Vaughan, Sr. and wife of the late Marion Card, Sr. and the late Jesse Hitt.
Billie graduated from Eupora High School where she excelled in basketball. She earned All Choctaw in her senior year. Billie was a member of the Hebron Baptist Church and Friends of the Library in Eupora, Mississippi. She was a sweet, dedicated lady who always took great pride in her appearance. She loved her family very much and worked hard to provide them. She made this statement about her death, “When death one day comes for me, I shall go with a smile on my face, a hallelujah on my lips and no fear in my heart as my God will be coming for me and where I will be going no more troubles will I ever see.”
She is survived by two sons, Donald (Becky) Card and Marion G. (Sharon) Card, Jr. both of Eupora, Mississippi; one daughter, Barbara Card (Robert) May of Hernando, Mississippi; a sister-in-law, Ruthie Vaughn; nine grandchildren, twenty great grandchildren, and two great-great grandchildren. She is also survived by a special nephew, David Kilgore, and a special niece, Brenda Hayes, as well as a host of other nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her parents, G. C. and Moree Trull Vaughan, Jr.; her first husband, Marion Card, Sr., and her second husband, Jesse Hitt; a son, Ronald Card; two brothers, Granville Vaughn, Jr. and David A. Vaughn; and two sisters, Bonnie Hillhouse and Kathy Griffin.
Funeral services for Billy Card Hitt will be Thursday, September 2, 2021 at 2:00 p.m. at Wise Reed Funeral Home Chapel. Visitation will be prior to the service from 12:00 until 2:00 p.m. at Wise Reed Funeral Home. Officiating the service will be Brother Charles Lee White and Brother Willie Weddle. Music will be provided by Laura Suggs Pepper. Pallbearers are Trey Card, Jodi Card, Jordan Jones, Kyle Jones, Delvin Vaughan, and Austin Perkins. Honorary pallbearers are Brian McMinn, Dixie Walker, Ethan Jones, Brian Perkins, Larry Crenshaw, Dan Benedict, and Friends of the Library. In lieu of flowers the family asks for donations to be made to Hebron Baptist Church Cemetery in care of Marion Card, 576 Prescott-Card Road, Eupora, Mississippi. Wise Reed Funeral Home is in charge of all arrangements.
