William Mart “Red” Salley, Sr.

William Mart “Red” Salley, Sr., age 85, passed away at his home in the Center Community surrounded by his family on April 28, 2022.William, known by most as Red, was the husband of Lucile Johnson “Pudgie” Salley for sixty-two years and the son of the late D. P. and Lula Beck Salley.

William was a custom cabinet maker for nearly fifty years. He was an artist in his craft who enjoyed working with his hands. He was an avid gardener and was well known for his delicious tomatoes. He was a member of the Eupora Church of Christ and loved all of his church family. After retirement, the highlight of his life was spending time with his wife whom he loved dearly and having those wonderful grandchildren and great-grandchildren over for a visit.

He is survived by his wife, Lucile; two sons, Charles Ken (Mitzi) Salley of Carrollton, Mississippi and Steven Peter (Mandy) Salley of Manila, Arkansas; one daughter-in-law, Ruthie Salley Duncan; eight grandchildren, Chip Salley, Morgan Salley Kittredge, Brandi Salley Vaughn, Carlie Crowley, D. P. Salley, Claude Salley, Lucas Salley, and Mart Salley; and ten great-grandchildren.

William “Red” Salley is preceded in death by his parents, D. P. and Lula Salley; one brother, Paul Salley; one son, William Mart Salley, Jr.; and one daughter, Michelle Salley Crowley.

Funeral service for William Mart “Red” Salley will be Saturday, April 30, 2022, at 2:00 p.m. Visitation will be prior to the service from 12:00 until 2:00 p.m. Officiating the service will be Brother Ken Salley and Brother Justin Oates. Pallbearers are Chip Salley, D. P. Salley, Claude Salley, Will Salley, Douglas Wood, Phillip Duncan, Brad Vaughn, and Brett Kittredge. Interment will be at Edgeworth Cemetery in Webster County. In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made to either The Eupora Church of Christ, 2194 West Roane Avenue, Eupora, MS 39744 or Edgeworth Cemetery, Attn: Amanda Burton, P. O.
