Thomas Eugene Medders, age 72, passed away on Thursday, July 28, 2022, at his home in Webster County, Mississippi. He was born on May 5, 1950, to the late Robert Edward and Hattie A. Medders.
Thomas was a lifetime resident of Mississippi. He was of the Baptist faith and was affiliated with Bluff Springs Baptist Church in Choctaw County as a child. Thomas served in the United States Army and also in the Vietnam War.
Survivors include his sons, Thomas Eugene (Hilary) Blankenship of Mantachie, Mississippi, John Thomas Medders of Memphis, Tennessee, and Robert Edward Medders of Memphis, Tennessee; one brother, Troy Medders of Eupora, Mississippi; one sister, Edna Medders of Eupora, Mississippi; and six grandchildren, John Thomas Jr., Jessica Medders, Robert Medders, Aleigha Medders, Marley Michelle Blankenship, and Cameron Eugene Blankenship.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Robert Edward and Hattie A. Medders; six brothers, Robert Medders Ed Medders, Alton Medders, J.T. Medders, Roy Medders, and V.J. Medders; and three sisters, Nell Medders, Inez Tedder, and Rachel Medders.
Funeral Services for Thomas Eugene Medders will be held on Sunday, July 31, 2022, at Wise Reed Funeral Home at 2 p.m. Visitation will be held prior to the service on Sunday, July 31, 2022, from 1 p.m. until 2 p.m. Burial will follow at Bluff Springs Cemetery in Choctaw County, Mississippi. Wise Reed Funeral Home is in charge of all arrangements.
