Obituary for Stanley Darrell "Stan" Rodgers

Stanley “Stan” Darrell Rodgers
April 12, 1966 – November 19, 2021
Springhill Community, Mississippi

Stan Rodgers, aged 55, passed away on November 19, 2021 while working on his grain bin in the Springhill community. He was the son of Lillian Card Rodgers and the late Roy Rodgers, Jr. He was married to Deanna Edmondson Rodgers.
Stan graduated from Eupora High School in 1984. He had a desire to follow in his father and grandfather’s footsteps by becoming a farmer. In fact, he shadowed them throughout their lifetime. Following his father’s death, Stan took over the family farming business, Rodgers Farms. His son Bryson has also become active in the family business and worked side by side with his dad in raising cotton, corn, soybeans and sweet potatoes, as well as cattle. His ability to make good judgements and decisions helped his business grow throughout the years. Stan was an active board member of the Farm Service Agency, Farm Bureau and Soil Conservation.
At an early age Stan became a member of Pilgrim’s Rest Baptist Church and his faith grew throughout the years. He presently attended Walthall Baptist Church. Stan’s love and compassion for his Lord and others was shared with his family and made a strong impression on everyone he met. Stan had fought and overcome some hard battles with pancreatic cancer. He had a heart for helping others no matter their need. Stan had fun no matter what he was doing and once he met you, he considered you a friend forever. His family always came first and he was happiest when they were all together.
Stan is survived by his mother, Lillian Card Rodgers; his wife, Deanna Edmondson Rodgers; a son Bryson Rodgers of Springhill, Mississippi; a daughter, Katelyn (Keith) Parker of Calhoun City, Mississippi, Taylor (John Paul) Fisackerly of Houston, Mississippi, Jessica Rodgers of Starkville, and Jaymie Davis of Springhill, Mississippi; one granddaughter, Sarah Beth Fisackerly; and hosts of aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Stan is preceded in death by his father, Roy “Junior” Rodgers, Jr.; and grandparents, Roy Rodgers, Sr. and Pearl Rodgers, Granville Girstle and Braskey Elizabeth Swindoll Card.
