Obituary for Sandra Kay Sisson (Pepper)

Sandra Kay Pepper Sisson
1941 – 2022

Sandra Kay Pepper Sisson was born on January 29, 1941, at home in the Peppertown Community of Webster County, Mississippi. She was the daughter of Howell Mitchell Pepper and Martha Carah Tackett Pepper. Sandra was the wife of the late William Allen “Bill” Sisson, and they made their home in Bellefontaine with their two sons, Mitchell Grady Sisson and Matthew Pepper Sisson.

Sandra was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Bill, four brothers: Cecil Allen Pepper of McComb, Mississippi; Charles Everette Pepper of Mantee; Stanley Howell Pepper of the Peppertown Community; George Dewey Pepper of the Peppertown Community; and one sister Evelyn Pepper Andres of Madison, Ohio.

Sandra is survived by two sisters-in-law: Joyce McGary Pepper and Margie Easley Pepper, both of Peppertown; her sons and daughters-in-law: Mitchell and Christy Sisson of Cumberland and Pepper and Gwen Sisson of Peppertown; numerous nieces and nephews; and two granddaughters: Georgia Mitchell Sisson and Margaret Duncan Sisson, whom she loved “to the moon and back”.

Sandra loved caring for her family and her community. She and Bill owned the small store in Bellefontaine for many years and were loved by one and all. She was a member of the Bellefontaine Homemakers Club, and was a dedicated gardener. If the sun were shining, one could usually find Sandra outside enjoying her yard and garden. She was an avid reader, loved to cook and host gatherings for friends and family, and in her later years, became a doting grandmother to Georgia and Maggie. Sandra was a member of Bellefontaine United Methodist Church for her entire life.

On January 14, 2022, at the age of 80 years, Sandra passed away at her home in Bellefontaine. She was loved by all those who knew her, and will be missed by many.
