Phillip Edward Toler, aged 47, passed away at his home in Ruston, Louisiana on August 22, 2021. He was the son of the late Edward Earl Toler and Martha Jean Curtis Palmertree.
Phillip was a free hearted, kind person, who never met a stranger. He had a great sense of humor making everyone laugh. His family meant the world to him. He loved Elvis music and tending to his chickens. He was employed with Western Rivers Riverboat Company. He often said, “After my death, I feel like a million bucks.”
He is survived by his son, John Thomas Burns of Alpena, Arkansas; his daughter, Candace (Luke) Robbins of Nettleton, Mississippi; three brothers, Edward Earl “Bubba” (Barbara) Toler of Fulton, Mississippi, Leonard Seymour (Cathy) Palmertree of Greenville, Mississippi, and Jason (Tonya) Palmertree of Greenville, Mississippi; two sisters, Melissa Wigginton of Nettleton, Mississippi and Loretta Lynn (Terry) Rowland of McComb, Mississippi; one grandson, Dalton Floyd Nettleton; ten nieces and nephews; four great nieces and nephews; and a host of cousins.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Edward Earl and Martha Jean Curtis Toler and one sister, Teresa Jean Castro-Ortiz.
Services for Phillip Edward Toler will be Friday, August 27, 2021 at 2:00 p.m. at Wise Reed Chapel. Visitation will be prior to the funeral from 1:00 until 2:00 p.m. at Wise Reed Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Poplar Creek Nations Baptist Church Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Devon Childs, Wyatt Goza, Jason Palmertree, Seymour Palmertree, Mark Burton, and Luke Robbins. Wise Reed Funeral Home is in charge of all arrangements.
