Pearlie H. Westmoreland, age 84, passed away on Wednesday, June 8, 2022 at her home in Eupora surrounded by her family. She was the wife of the late Pershing “Bill” Westmoreland, Sr. and daughter of the late Clinton and Minnie Tucker Homan.

Pearlie was known for her sincere love of her family. She met her husband at the age of 16 and declared that she would marry “that cowboy”. They had six children and many grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren that she cared for. She was a stay-at-home mother who always wanted each of them surrounding her. Her family said that she enjoyed watching “Little House on the Prairie” and “The Price is Right” over and over again. She cooked three meals a day every day for her family as long as she was able and expected them to be there all together. Her family said that she especially made delicious banana pudding and home-made biscuits. She was of the Baptist faith.

Survivors include her three sons, James (Kim) Westmoreland of Longview, Texas, Randy (Brenda) Westmoreland of Eupora, Mississippi, and Pershing “Bubba” (Lynn) Westmoreland, Jr. of Brandon, Mississippi; two daughters, Betty Potts of Pontotoc, Mississippi and Debbie (Robert) Bingham of Eupora, Mississippi; twenty-four grandchildren; and a host of great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.

Pearlie is preceded in death by her parents, Clinton and Minnie Tucker Homan; her husband, Pershing “Bill” Westmoreland, Sr. two sons, Tony Westmoreland and Billy Westmoreland; two brothers, Buck Homan and James Homan; and four sisters, Mary Sue McNutt, Annalou McNeese, Joann Ballard, and Marilyn Campbell.

Funeral service for Pearlie H. Westmoreland will be Saturday, June 11, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. at Wise Reed Funeral Home Chapel. Visitation for Pearlie Westmoreland will be Friday, June 10, 2022 from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. at Wise Reed Funeral Home. Brother Pershing Westmoreland, Jr. will be officiating the services. Wise Reed Funeral Home is in charge of all arrangements.
