Mavis Nadine Harris, aged 90, passed away at her home in Mathiston, Mississippi. She was the wife of the late Elisha Harris, Jr. and daughter of the late Thomas and Beulah Williams Littlejohn.
Mavis was a lifelong resident of Mississippi. She enjoyed cooking for her family and was patient and kind to everyone. She was a pianist and played for her church, Old Mt. Pisgah, until she became unable to play at the age of eighty-eight. She also played for services at the local nursing home.
She is survived by two sons, Jimmy Dale Harris of West Point, Mississippi and Robert Harris of Mathiston, Mississippi; two daughters, Jody (Joey) Faulk of Grenada, Mississippi and Regina Pickett of Mathiston, Mississippi; one brother, Avalon Littlejohn of Eupora, Mississippi; three sisters, Katie Robertson of Arab, Alabama, Elain Medders of Mathiston, Mississippi, and Ilene Taylor Fleming of Eupora, Mississippi; seven grandchildren; fifteen great grandchildren; and four great-great grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Thomas and Beulah Williams Littlejohn; her husband, Elisha Harris, Jr.; one son, Karl Harris; five brothers, Arlis Littlejohn, Oscar Cleveland Litttlejohn, Thomas Littlejohn, Marvon Littlejohn, and Marrilton Littlejohn; three sisters, Dorothy Fredricks, Maxine Shinall, and Eleanor Clark; and one grandchild.
Funeral service for Mavis Nadine Harris will be Saturday, January 8, 2022 at 1:00 p.m. at Old Mt Pisgah Church in Choctaw County, Mississippi. Officiating the service will be Brother Joey Faulk. Pallbearers will be Bob Tyler, Chris Harris, Joe Medders, Gavan McQuary, Denver McQuary, and Jeff Griffin. Wise Reed Funeral Home is in charge of all arrangements.
