Lola JoAnn Swindoll Clark, age 90, passed away on Monday, April 30, 2022 at Union County Health and Rehab in New Albany, Mississippi. She was the daughter of the late George Presley and Lola Ione Duncan Swindoll.
JoAnn was a homemaker and devoted mother to four children, Larry, Bobbie Jo, Linda, and Jane. She would prepare four meals a day for all of her family and then go work in the fields. In her later years she won many prizes in bingo and loved dancing. In fact, she could dance the two-step better than most of the other dancers. She was a Baptist and a former member of Philadelphia Baptist Church in the Cadaretta Community. She continued attending church in the community where she presently lived.
Survivors include her son, Larry (Loyce) Clark of Nettleton, Mississippi; Bobbie Jo (Steven) Clark Elmore of Tupelo, Mississippi; two brothers, Lamar (Virginia) Swindoll of Nashville, Mississippi and Harold (Sherry) Swindoll of Grand Bay, Alabama; a sister, Doris Roberts of Petal, Mississippi; and four grandchildren, Nacoma Lyda, John Elmore, James Elmore, and Grace Elmore.
JoAnn is preceded in death by her parents, George Presley and Lola Ione Duncan Swindoll; her husband, James Clark; two daughters, Linda Hogue and Jane Farmer; three brothers, Fred Swindoll, Edward Swindoll, and Charles Swindoll; and one grandson, Jason Gatlin.
